He then went to work as Assistant to Producer David Foster,(The Mask of Zorro, The River Wild, and Wildcard) where he learned firsthand, the production and development side of the film industry, while continuing to read and do coverage on feature screenplays. He has also worked for Producers Alex Rose at Paramount (Nothing in Common, Frankie and Johnny) and Joseph S. Vecchio, (Sunchaser, Oscar). Peter graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from The A.F. I. in 1996.

In 2000, he founded The Inside Track for Story and Cinematic Structure Since then, Peter has continued as an active consultant to Hollywood, script doctor, and as an Instructor of Screenwriting.
