Screenwriting Workshops Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I have an idea that I think will make a great movie, but I have never written a screenplay or any other kind of play before. Is this class for me?A: Inside Track Workshop covers basic cinematic structure. Standard Hollywood format, character archetypes and elements of screenplay structure are reviewed in detail. You'll also learn the process of turning your ideas and vision into a presentable, properly formatted, structurally sound screenplay.
Q: I have written a screenplay and think it is promising. Will your classes help me polish it?
A: Inside Track Workshops are designed for the writer who is interested in more advanced screenwriting techniques. Enrollment is limited to ensure that all writers have the opportunity for individualized analysis of their work. In-depth analysis of story ideas, plot and character development are explored here.
Q: I like the idea of "pitching" for a producer, but I am not quite sure at this point if I want to share my work in that way. Am I required to pitch?
A: No. Pitch sessions are optional. At Inside Track, we take pride in offering our students the opportunity to
learn the craft of Screenwriting in a working studio environment. The art of pitching is the second stage of
the production process. (Writing a great screenplay is the first stage.) While we encourage all students to participate in pitch sessions, it is not required.
Q: Will you help me secure an agent upon completion of my work?
A: No. However, part of curriculum covers methods of acquiring representation. Finding an agent is hard work that can only be done by the writer. At Inside Track, the practical methods for approaching this challenge are explored.
